The IEEE Computer Society brings together computer software and hardware professionals.  Founded in 1946 and with nearly 85,000 members, it is the world’s leading organization for computing professionals. The largest of the 38 societies in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the CS is dedicated to advancing the theory and application of computer and information-processing technology.

For more information about the Computer Society’s service or to join, please see the Society’s membership site.

The IEEE Buenaventura Section CS chapter, centered in Ventura County, California, USA, has about 150 members who meet monthly to network and hear technical presentations.  Meetings are free and open to the public; no RSVP is required.   Meetings normally have between 20 and 60 attendees.  For more information see the Meetings page.

Computer Society members are also encouraged to attend meetings in the other Buenaventura Section chapters.
